My good luck song!

In one day of the long lockdown days, I was with my flatmates playing the "spin the bottle" game to cheer ourselves. We had to ask the "very first question" that popped into our heads—one of the questions I had to answer.

"Do you have a good luck song?!"

I wondered what a good luck song was.

I thought it was a sound that comes on randomly and spontaneously and acts as a good luck charm.

Now, what my good luck song would be.

I thought for a moment, "Yeah, I have one. It is the "Thunder " by the "Imagine Dragons" band."

I remembered two years before; I was passing through difficult times.

My life back then was a roller coaster. Sometimes I was up; many other times I was down. Sadly, it was during the rough patches that I might have used some extra help and direction. I had been in a protracted cycle of job applications with no results.

I listened to some shuffle songs on Spotify, caught in the zone of fear, depression and boxed in and beat down, holding no bars.

Suddenly, Dan Reynolds' voice, "Imagine Dragons lead singer," sang.

“Just a young gun with a quick fuse

I was uptight, wanna let loose

It was my situation at that time, and I had so much pent-up energy. I was unhappy with where I was, and I wanted to be in a better place. I just had to stop what I was doing and feel the groove.

There was the flash of dreaming light, and the rumbling thunder of success was coming.

The song itself is so simple, with no complicated words. In one way or another, it inspires people to achieve their dreams, despite the obstacles that confront them.

I should stay positive, and I should learn from these challenging times.

I should not allow the wave of depression.
