HEY, I'M HIBA

I’m Hiba from Syria, a passionate environmental engineer who got her feet wet in different areas.

I'm currently pursuing my PhD at UniBS, Italy, looking at water resource management in large river basins (fully funded).

In 2021, I completed my joint Erasmus Mundus master’s degree (MEDfOR) at the University of Padova in forest and environmental science.Previously in 2015, I pursued my master’s degree in civil environmental engineering at Tishreen University, Syria.

Outside of academia, I’m a traveler, reader, mental health advocate, and coffee addict.

You can also find me on LinkedIn.

I am always happy to chat, so get in touch and coffee is on me!

“Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it.  Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone.  Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water.  If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.”     ― Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad
